Why We Rescue

Why We Do What We Do

Touched By An Angel

“Dogs can only be described as divine, have the ability to forgive, let go of the past, and live each day joyously. It’s something the rest of us should strive for.”

“We are their voice. They show us how to love, live and they teach us to be our better selves. We need to continue to advocate for the ones who can’t speak for themselves.”

“Enjoy the beauty of a dog, for they are devoted, dedicated and loyal to us and they never stop loving you.”

A Rescue To The Shelter Dog

I wonder and think what you are doing, I worry that I can’t get to you in time and save you from this life you didn’t ask for. I have these visions in my head that haunt me and it pushes me to find you, save one more, rescue another and still I feel it is not enough. I’m shacking and scared but when I pick you up and hug you tight in my arms, I know I am doing the right thing. I will continue day in and day out and will not stop saving animals. For this is a life worth living.

A Shelter Dog named Hitch – a conversation to his foster mamma Linda

“Hi Mamma, its me Hitch. I wanted to thank you for saving me from death and for loving me so deeply. Thank you for bringing me into your home and saving my life. Mamma, I will never forget you, and you took me in when no one wanted me. I was scared sitting in your car on the drive home to your house. I shook in fear and sat on your lap while we quietly drove home. I was confused and my hair was filthy, my eyes were blood shot and had scars that were far deeper than anyone could imagine, but you were there for me. You gave me a bath, brushed my hair and made me feel special and I was part of your family. And those treats were yummy; I couldn’t wait for you to come home. I love you Mamma, and my family now shows me all the love, just like you showed me. Mamma, continue to save animals like me, never stop saving, rescuing and caring for these dogs who have no voice. Show them the love like you showed me. Bye for now.

Love you Mamma,
Hitch
